Halliburton To Plead Guilty To Destroying Deepwater Evidence

Law360, Los Angeles (July 25, 2013, 8:57 PM EDT) -- Halliburton Energy Services Inc. will plead guilty to destroying evidence in connection with the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.

The announcement comes the same day as the DOJ filed a criminal information charging Halliburton with one count of destruction of evidence in Louisiana federal court. Halliburton has signed a cooperation and guilty plea agreement with the government in which the company has agreed to admit its criminal conduct, according to federal prosecutors.
