Clorox Seeks Import Ban On Cloralex-Brand Cleaners

Law360, New York (July 26, 2013, 2:12 PM EDT) -- The Clorox Co. filed a complaint Thursday with the U.S. International Trade Commission that seeks to block entry of Mexican cleaning products Cloralex and Pinol, alleging they infringe trademarks for the company's well-known Clorox- and Pine-Sol-brand household cleaners.

Clorox claims the rival products manufactured by Industrias Alen S.A. De C.V. are unfairly poaching sales for its Clorox and Pine-Sol cleaners, capitalizing on deceptively similar brand names and product packaging.
