Hewlett-Packard, AT&T Hit Over Cloud Computing IP

Law360, New York (July 29, 2013, 4:49 PM EDT) -- Hewlett-Packard Co., AT&T Inc. and CA Technologies Inc. were hit in Delaware on Friday with suits from Clouding IP LLC, accusing them of infringing a slew of patents related to cloud-based computing technologies, the latest in the company's recent onslaught of litigation over intellectual property for cloud computing.

The three companies were all accused of infringing the same four patents — all pertaining to visual interfaces for cloud computing and monitoring the state of data centers. AT&T was accused of infringing an additional four patents that covered technologies for virtual private network tunnels, remote mobile data access and pay-per-use cloud services.
