Halliburton Arraigned For File Deletion In Deepwater Case

Law360, New York (July 31, 2013, 6:51 PM EDT) -- Halliburton Energy Services Inc. was arraigned Wednesday in Louisiana federal court over its alleged deletion of certain computer simulation files that could have weakened its argument that BP PLC’s failure to heed one of its recommendations was partly responsible for the Deepwater Horizon disaster. 

The energy giant formally entered a not guilty plea to a misdemeanor count for the deletion of a computer file as a procedural matter, but it is expected to plead guilty to that count at a hearing scheduled for Sept. 19, 2013....
