Chevron Settles EPA Suit Over Utah Refinery Emissions

Law360, New York (August 1, 2013, 2:35 PM EDT) -- Chevron Corp. agreed on Wednesday to pay a $384,000 penalty and help purchase environmentally friendly buses for a local school district in order to settle a Clean Air Act suit over nitrogen oxide emissions at an urban Utah refinery.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced the deal concurrent with the filing of a CAA suit in Utah federal court over purported emissions violations at the company's petroleum refinery in the north end of Salt Lake City.
