Abertis Reaps $600M In UK Airport Sale To AENA, AXA

Law360, New York (August 1, 2013, 12:12 PM EDT) -- Spain's Abertis Infraestructuras SA has agreed to sell London-area Luton Airport to Spanish airport operator AENA and an infrastructure fund managed by AXA Private Equity for £394.4 million ($600.5 million), the company's second airport sale in two weeks, Abertis said Thursday.

AENA and AXA will acquire the airport — the U.K.'s fifth-largest by passenger traffic — from TBI Ltd., a U.K. airport owner and operator controlled by Abertis. AENA will take over a 51 percent stake in the airport, with AXA holding the remaining minority share.
