Delta Fuels, Knight Pay $2.3M To End Gas Spill CWA Suit

Law360, Chicago (August 2, 2013, 3:36 PM EDT) -- Delta Fuels Inc. and Knight Enterprises Inc. have agreed to pay $2.33 million to settle the federal government's claims that they violated the Clean Water Act with a 2005 gasoline spill at an Ohio petroleum storage facility, according to a Federal Register notice released Friday.

The U.S. Department of Justice said that the proposed consent decree, entered Wednesday in Ohio federal court, would resolve its pending claims against Delta and Knight on an "ability-to-pay basis" and requires them to cough up roughly $1.75 million, plus interest,...
