Fla. Allows DEF To Charge Customers For Failed Nuke Projects

Law360, Miami (August 5, 2013, 7:30 PM EDT) -- Florida's Public Service Commission on Monday agreed to defer a nuclear cost recovery proceeding for Duke Energy Corp.'s Florida unit until next year, but allowed the utility to continue to charge customers for two failed nuclear projects.

In a hearing in Tallahassee, the PSC granted Duke Energy Florida Inc.'s motion to defer its Nuclear Cost Recovery Clause proceeding until 2014 while a revised settlement filed last week is considered by the commission.
