Wisconsin University Sues Intel For Infringement

Law360, New York (February 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The University of Wisconsin has filed suit against Intel Corp., claiming products manufactured by the microprocessor conglomerate infringe the university's data speculation patent.

The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, which manages patents invented at the university, filed a complaint against Intel Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.

The suit alleges that the Santa Clara company knowingly infringed the university’s patent in its Core 2 Duo microprocessors.
