Acacia Takes Aim At Hospitals With New Patent Portfolio

Law360, New York (November 30, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Acacia Research Corp. has bought another patent portfolio, setting the stage for a likely slew of lawsuits and licensing deals with cutting edge healthcare technology that’s increasingly popular in hospitals around the world.

Acacia’s wholly owned and very busy technology licensing subsidiary, Acacia Patent Acquisition Corporation, has acquired the rights to patents for Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS). PACS covers technology for archiving and transmitting medical images.
