FDA Again Delays Deadline For Food-Safety Rule Comments

Law360, New York (August 8, 2013, 7:35 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is pushing back the deadline for public comment on two major proposed food safety rules that it issued in January, the final time it will make such an extension, it said Thursday.

Companies, consumer groups and other members of the public will now have until Nov. 15 to submit comments on proposed rules related to produce safety standards and the establishment of controls to prevent foodborne illness outbreaks, part of the rollout of the Food Safety Modernization Act.
