Kilpatrick Aids American Tower's $811M Latin American Deal

Law360, New York (August 9, 2013, 2:04 PM EDT) -- American Tower Corp. has struck an $811 million deal to snap up several thousand cellphone towers in Brazil and Mexico from NII Holdings Inc., significantly increasing its presence in the area, the companies announced Friday.

In two separate transactions, American Tower will acquire 2,790 Brazilian towers and 1,666 Mexican ones, which NII's Nextel subsidiaries will then lease back. American Tower plans to use a mix of cash and borrowings from revolving credit facilities to fund the buys, according to a statement.
