Ex-Pa. DEP Head Rips Proposed Fracking Moratorium

Law360, Philadelphia (September 25, 2013, 3:04 PM EDT) -- The former chief of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection on Wednesday ripped proposed legislation that would impose a moratorium on new fracking permits in the state, arguing that while passage was unlikely, the proposal could sow uncertainty for energy interests.

Leading a session on restarting Philadelphia’s refineries on the opening day of the 2013 Shale Insight conference, Michael Krancer, a partner at Blank Rome LLP, had strong words for the bill introduced last week by Sen. Jim Ferlo, D-Allegheny.
