Electric Car Charging Co. Ecotality Eyes Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (August 13, 2013, 3:00 PM EDT) -- Ecotality Inc., a U.S. government-backed maker of electric car charging stations, on Monday said it may need to file for bankruptcy, citing dismal commercial sales and declining revenues from a Recovery Act-funded electric vehicle infrastructure project.

San Francisco-based Ecotality said a number of problems have coalesced that have significantly impacted its ability to meet ongoing obligations and fund anticipated losses, including weak sales numbers for its commercial Electric Vehicle Service Equipment and performance shortfalls with its latest planned offering in its Minit Charger industrial line....
