EPA Failed To Protect Fla. Waterways, Group Claims

Law360, Miami (August 13, 2013, 7:05 PM EDT) -- The Florida Wildlife Federation and a Tampa-area couple on Monday sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for failing to enforce the anti-degradation provisions of the Clean Water Act in Florida's waterways.

In a complaint filed in the Middle District of Florida, the nonprofit and the citizen plaintiffs, Alfred and Cindy Davis, said the federal agency had failed to comply with a 2010 settlement agreement under which the EPA had promised to assess and evaluate anti-degradation water quality standards in the state's “Outstanding Florida Waters,” a list...
