NAD Refers AB Challenge To MillerCoors Advertising To FTC

Law360, New York (August 13, 2013, 3:50 PM EDT) -- The National Advertising Division said Tuesday it has made a rare referral to the Federal Trade Commission of an advertising dispute between Anheuser-Busch LLC and MillerCoors LLC after Miller allegedly refused to cooperate with the NAD’s own investigation.

The NAD, the investigative unit of the Advertising Self-Regulatory Council, said advertising claims made by MillerCoors for its Coors Light beer cans were challenged by Anheuser-Busch, and that it made the unusual step of referring the matter to the FTC because MillerCoors did not participate in the self-regulatory...
