Fair Use Act Threatens Innovators' Rights: Advocates

Law360, New York (February 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- By cutting out the high statutory damages for secondary copyright infringement, the proposed Freedom and Innovation Revitalizing U.S. Entrepreneurship Act, known as the Fair Use Act, would simply allow the electronics industry to benefit from “piracy-inducing” technology and shift penalties onto consumers, the Institute for Policy Innovation said Monday.
