Missouri Doctors Gain Right To Sue Hospitals

Law360 (February 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Missouri appellate court has ruled that state courts have the authority to ensure that private hospitals follow their state-mandated bylaws, allowing physicians to sue hospitals over staffing decisions for the first time in more than 40 years.

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Missouri unanimously overturned two decisions from lower courts, which had dismissed a suit brought by physician Robert C.
