Panda Power To Build 859-MW Power Plant In Md.

Law360, New York (August 19, 2013, 1:27 PM EDT) -- Energy-focused private equity firm Panda Power Funds will build a blockbuster 859-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in Maryland that will power nearly 1 million homes in the Washington metropolitan area, Dallas-based Panda Power said Monday.

The combined-cycle power plant will be built in Brandywine, Md., and has the support of local officials in Prince George's County, Panda Power said. The facility will supply roughly 900,000 homes in the greater Maryland and Washington markets with power, is slated to come online in mid-2017.
