DOJ Investigating JPMorgan Energy Practices

Law360, Washington (August 19, 2013, 7:43 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Justice has launched a probe into whether JPMorgan Chase & Co. manipulated U.S. energy markets, just weeks after the company settled similar allegations with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, according to a Wall Street Journal report Monday.

DOJ decided to investigate JPMorgan's energy practices around the time the company decided to shell out $410 million to settle a FERC probe alleging it had used complex trading schemes to rig electricity prices in California and the Midwest, the Wall Street Journal reported....
