2nd Circ. Judge Lands On Spy Court's Review Panel

Law360, New York (August 20, 2013, 4:39 PM EDT) -- Second Circuit Judge Jose A. Cabranes has been tapped to a seven-year term on a panel handling rare appeals of rulings from the secret U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, a judiciary official said Tuesday.

Cabranes was appointed Aug. 9 by U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts to fill a vacancy on the three-judge Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review, which hears challenges to orders issued by the FISC in cases involving significant or novel issues of law, according to Sheldon Snook, a representative for the federal...
