Portland Pooh-Poohs Sidewalk Toilet Trademark Theft

Law360, New York (August 20, 2013, 4:57 PM EDT) -- The city of Portland, Ore., sued a public restroom manufacturer Monday seeking to flush the company's sale of allegedly knockoff versions of the city's trademarked “Portland Loo” sidewalk toilet kiosk.

Portland's suit claims that Romtec Inc. manufactured its own version — “The Sidewalk Restroom” — that infringed the design and trade dress of the Portland Loo in violation of the Lanham Act and the Copyright Act.
