OTC Drug Group Wants Children's Dosage On Med Labels

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 6:15 PM EDT) -- A trade group representing the makers of over-the-counter medications urged federal regulators Monday to allow them to print the allowed dosage for children taking pain relief drugs, on the dosing information section of the medication packaging label.

The Consumer Healthcare Products Association argued that allowing manufacturers to print the acetaminophen dosage instructions for children between 6 months old and 2 years old on the medication’s drug facts label would allow consumers to have “convenient and accurate” information right on the bottle, according to its citizen petition...
