ATMI Monopolizing Gas Delivery Market: Praxair

Law360, New York (February 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Praxair Inc. has alleged that Advanced Technology Materials Inc. is trying to enforce an invalid patent and cut off Praxair's supply of boron trifluoride, a chemical used to make subatmospheric gas delivery systems.

Both Praxair and ATMI make the systems, which are used in the manufacture of semiconductor chips. The global supply of boron trifluoride is mostly controlled by Nukem GmbH, a German company, which until recently supplied the chemical to both companies.
