Patient Groups Decry ACA Medicaid Drug Coverage Rule

Law360, New York (August 21, 2013, 6:34 PM EDT) -- Dozens of patient advocacy groups on Monday sharply criticized the Obama administration's decision not to require comprehensive prescription drug coverage in the Affordable Care Act's expanded Medicaid plans, warning of harm to the chronically ill and urging an about-face.

The complaints were contained in a letter signed by numerous disease-related foundations and concern so-called alternative benefit plans that will cover Americans newly eligible for Medicaid under the ACA.
