Ex-Dow Worker Awarded $6M In Asbestos Suit

Law360, New York (August 22, 2013, 1:11 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana jury awarded nearly $6 million to a former Dow Chemical Co. worker, finding the company liable for mesothelioma he developed following on-the-job exposure to asbestos products, the plaintiff's attorneys said Wednesday.

A Plaquemine, La., jury found Dow liable on all counts alleged by former employee Sidney Mabile, who is one of thousands of workers purportedly exposed to asbestos at Dow plants where the company continues to use the cancer-causing product, Mabile’s attorneys said.
