Meat Industry Says Origin Labeling Violates Free Speech

Law360, Washington (August 27, 2013, 3:58 PM EDT) -- A coalition of North American meat and poultry organizations pushed a Washington federal judge Tuesday to halt the U.S. Department of Agriculture's new country-of-origin meat-labeling rules, saying the burdensome rules violate companies' First Amendment rights and could put many out of business.
