FDA Mulling Rule To Ban Online E-Cigarette Sales

Law360, New York (August 23, 2013, 5:40 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reportedly considering prohibiting electronic cigarette manufacturers from selling the products online, in order to prevent people under 18 years old from using them.

The agency is also examining whether it should establish a minimum age of 18 or 19 for the purchase of e-cigarettes, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing anonymous sources. In addition, the FDA is mulling advertising standards for the products, it said.
