Power, Energy Sectors Lower GHG Intensity: Report

Law360, New York (February 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Energy recently released a report showing that power- and energy-intensive industrial sectors have shown a better than expected but still uneven improvement in reducing greenhouse gas intensity since 2002.

The sectors as a whole decreased their combined emissions intensity by 9.4% from 2002 to 2006, surpassing the baseline projection of 5.4%, according to the new Climate VISION Progress Report 2007. Actual greenhouse gas emissions for these sectors fell a combined 1.4% in 2006.
