Neb. AG's Bar On 'Patent Troll' Firm Illegal, Court Told

Law360, New York (August 28, 2013, 7:51 PM EDT) -- A company seeking to hire Farney Daniels PC to represent it in a patent case has asked a federal judge to prevent Nebraska's attorney general from enforcing an order barring the firm from filing patent suits while the state investigates its representation of so-called patent trolls.

In his July cease-and-desist letter, Attorney General Jon Bruning told Texas-based Farney Daniels not to engage in any patent enforcement actions in Nebraska during a probe of what he called the firm's baseless lawsuits filed on behalf of nonpracticing entitles. ...
