Consol Unveils $1B Pittsburgh Airport Gas Drilling Plans

Law360, Philadelphia (August 28, 2013, 5:12 PM EDT) -- After landing a $1 billion deal with the Allegheny County Airport Authority in February to drill for natural gas at Pittsburgh International Airport, CONSOL Energy Inc. on Tuesday unveiled plans for nearly 50 wells it said it hoped to begin constructing in July 2014.

At a news conference, CONSOL said it had been working with county officials for months to craft a plan that would minimize the impact on both the environment and airport operations, while maximizing gas production and profits for local government.
