8th Circ. Boots Iowa Correctional Officer's Race Bias Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (August 28, 2013, 5:55 PM EDT) -- The Eighth Circuit ruled Wednesday that a lower court properly dismissed a workplace discrimination suit brought by an African-American woman who works for an Iowa correctional facility, saying her voluntary use of all her sick leave did not constitute an adverse employment action.
