Arbitrators Grant KBR $70M Judgment

Law360, New York (February 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Engineering firm and former Halliburton subsidiary KBR Inc. announced Monday that it has been awarded over $70 million from an arbitration panel over a contract dispute with Mexico's state energy company.

Houston-based KBR said it was told last Friday that an arbitration panel had awarded one of its subsidiaries a net sum greater than $70 million, plus interest accrued since 2002, from Pemex Exploracion y Production, which according to Pemex is a “decentralized public entity” of the Mexican government.
