Agrium Buys Time By Refiling In Antitrust Review

Law360, New York (February 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Agrium Inc. said Monday it plans to refile its documentation of a proposed takeover of UAP Holding Corp. The company hopes to sidestep a request for additional information as the federal government reviews antitrust issues.

The Canadian agricultural products company originally submitted the information to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission when the deal was announced in December, but yanked its notification of the merger proposal in mid-January.
