June Trial Date Proposed For Exxon Ark. Oil Spill Suit

Law360, New York (August 30, 2013, 3:56 PM EDT) -- An Arkansas federal judge on Thursday proposed a June trial date for a federal lawsuit demanding ExxonMobil Corp. pay millions in civil fines and cleanup costs for a pipeline breach that dumped thousands of gallons of oil into a residential neighborhood.

U.S. District Judge James M. Moody issued a proposed final scheduling order cutting off discovery on March 7 and calling for the trial to occur sometime during the week of June 16 in Little Rock, Ark., to address pollution claims from federal and state authorities....
