Coming Months Vital To Global Trade, New WTO Chief Says

Law360, New York (September 3, 2013, 2:53 PM EDT) -- Brazil's Roberto Azevedo took over Sunday as the new head of the World Trade Organization, replacing former Director-General Pascal Lamy and saying that the next few months represent a critical juncture for the future of global trade.

As Azevedo, the sixth WTO director-general and the first ever from Latin America, formally took the helm of the organization, he said his organization and, more generally, the world's multilateral trading system are “at an important crossroads.”
