Securities Arbitration Perceived As Unfair: Study

Law360, New York (February 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A new study lends empirical backing to some criticisms of the securities arbitration system, showing that customers perceive the system as biased and unfair.

The study, conducted at the request of the Securities Industry Conference on Arbitration, shows that many survey participants were not satisfied with how their most recent dispute turned out and believe their securities arbitration experience was less fair than a comparable experience in a civil court case.
