New Bill Would Allow EPA To Fund Diesel Retrofits

Law360, New York (February 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee marked up a bill Wednesday that would allow the Environmental Protection Agency to continue funding clean diesel projects as part of environmental enforcement settlements.

“In recent years, there has been a new era in clean diesel technology, which includes three critical parts,” said Rep. Jim Costa (D-Calif.), who introduced the bill in October. “First, a cleaner burning, lower sulfur diesel; second, lower-emitting diesel engines; and third, new emissions control technology.
