11th Circ. Refuses To Review Fla. High Court Engle Ruling

Law360, Miami (September 6, 2013, 7:34 PM EDT) -- The Eleventh Circuit on Friday affirmed two judgments for plaintiffs in the Engle tobacco litigation and rejected R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.'s argument that the application of findings from the original Engle case violates the company's due process rights.

The appeals court said that R.J. Reynolds had a full and fair opportunity to be heard in the class action decertified by the Florida Supreme Court in 2006 in Engle v. Liggett Group Inc. and that it was required to give full faith and credit to the state...
