Whirlpool Wins Dismissal Of Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (February 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has granted Whirlpool Corp. summary judgment in a racial discrimination suit brought by white employees, dismissing claims from five separate plaintiffs.

On Tuesday, Judge Aleta A. Trauger of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee dismissed hostile workplace and retaliation claims brought by five white employees who had allegedly witnessed racially discriminatory acts by white workers against black employees at Whirlpool’s La Vergne, Tenn. facility.
