Swedish Diaper Co. Bids On Chinese Tissue Maker Vinda

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 7:39 PM EDT) -- Swedish hygiene and forestry products company Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget has offered to acquire a majority of Chinese tissue maker Vinda International for HK$11 ($1.42) per share, up to a maximum of HK$8.6 billion both companies announced Monday.

The deal represents about a 34.5 percent premium on Vinda's average stock value over the 30 trading days before the bid announcement, according to SCA, which already owns 21.7 percent of Vinda's stock.
