Russian Prime Minister Cautions Ukraine Over EU Trade Pact

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 4:38 PM EDT) -- Russia's prime minister on Monday warned that finalizing a trade agreement between Ukraine and the European Union would cut Ukraine out of an economic partnership between Russia and other former Soviet countries, the latest marker of trade tension between Russia and Ukraine.

During a meeting Monday with his deputy prime ministers, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said a Ukrainian association agreement with the EU would restrict Ukraine's cooperation with the Eurasian Customs Union, which currently includes Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
