HHS Rips GOP 'Interference' With ACA Navigators

Law360, New York (September 9, 2013, 7:03 PM EDT) -- Federal regulators on Monday chastised House Republicans for demanding exhaustive information, including guidelines for ensuring consumer privacy, from so-called navigators tasked with helping customers when Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges debut next month, calling the inquiries distracting and unnecessary.

The memo to Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., chairman of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, depicted the panel’s recent letters to dozens of navigators as poorly timed and likely to divert resources when only weeks remain before exchanges open for business.
