House Passes Bill For 50KW Alaska Hydro Project, Pipeline

Law360, New York (September 10, 2013, 8:13 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Tuesday passed a bill that allows a 50-kilowatt micro-hydroelectric power plant and natural gas pipeline to be built in Denali National Park and Preserve, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who introduced the bill, said Tuesday.

Murkowski, R-Alaska, said the Denali Park Improvement Act, which approves the power plant and dam within Kantishna Hill in Denali, will become law as soon as it heads to President Obama’s desk to be signed.
