House Passes ACA Exchange Eligibility Verification Bill

Law360, New York (September 12, 2013, 8:10 PM EDT) -- The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed legislation banning the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services from issuing Affordable Care Act-mandated insurance subsidies until it implements a program to verify applicants’ eligibility, a measure the bill's sponsor called a “common-sense” method of preventing fraud.
