EU Court Cuts $271M From Wabco Bathroom Cartel Fine

Law360, New York (September 16, 2013, 5:52 PM EDT) -- A European court on Monday reduced by €203 million ($271 million) an antitrust fine leveled against Wabco Holdings Inc. that the company paid in relation to an alleged bathroom fixtures cartel that involved the Ideal Standard business.

The ruling was one of several issued by the EU General Court in Luxembourg, which decided appeals brought by numerous companies challenging penalties handed down by Europe's antitrust regulator. In 2010, the European Commission fined 17 bathroom fixture manufacturers more than €622 million for price-fixing activity that lasted more than a decade....
