CORRECTED: FTC's Brill Vows To Fight Against Pay-For-Delay

Law360, New York (September 16, 2013, 3:19 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission's Julie Brill proclaimed on Saturday that her agency would continue its fight against illegal “pay-for-delay” pacts in the pharmaceutical sector, noting that the U.S. Supreme Court's recent opinion on the matter puts a greater onus on enforcement agencies. 

While stressing that patents and the growth of innovation are critical to the growth of the economy, Brill made clear that the FTC will not lose sight of its dual mission to foster competition and protect consumers from anti-competitive actions that drive up prices....
