Gateway Does Not Infringe HP Patents: ITC

Law360, New York (December 9, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has ruled that computer maker Gateway does not infringe patents for computer technology held by industry rival Hewlett Packard, overturning a previous ruling and remanding the case to an administrative law judge for further proceedings.

Gateway appealed the decision after a judge ruled in August that Gateway’s products infringed HP’s patents for parallel port technology.
