Philly Zoning Change Will Kill $27M Investment, Suit Says

Law360, Philadelphia (September 17, 2013, 3:41 PM EDT) -- A Philadelphia real estate developer sued the city in state court Friday over an alleged illegal spot zoning decision, claiming that the move would jeopardize its $27 million investment in a neighboring shopping center that is being developed.

Arsenal Inc. says the rezoned northeast Philadelphia site is inappropriate for commercial use and that the decision would cause it to lose its anchor tenant, a ShopRite grocery store.
