Sanofi Targets Syringe Maker With Patent Suit

Law360, New York (February 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Sanofi-Aventis has filed suit against syringe maker Safety Syringes Inc. in an attempt to defend itself against patent infringement allegations that are part of a different lawsuit Safety Syringes has filed.

California-based SSI is involved in a pending patent infringement suit against Plastef Investissements, a French maker of medical equipment. SSI sued that company in April, alleging that Plastef's needle shield safety devices infringe on three of its patents.
